Our scholarships will give students from low-income households the opportunity
to work toward the attainable goal of a college education. This scholarship
is focused on students who have shown constant improvement throughout their
high school years and show an aptitude to do well in college. While Delta Xi
provides those necessary college tuition funds, this comprehensive program offers
so much more including mentors who provide inspiration and guidance for life.
Delta Xi offers several scholarship different scholarship opportunities. The
eligibility criteria may vary slightly between scholarships.
For the 2009 school year the Scholarships offered are:
Dr. David Talbot Memorial Scholarship
Inspirational Educator Scholarship
Various Book Scholarships*
To be eligible for scholarships offered by the Delta Xi, a student must identify his or her intention of enrolling into an accredited college or university or already be enrolled at such a college or university. Personal essay describing career goals, current and past relevant extracurricular activities, etc., at the time the application is submitted. All scholarship applicants must be either U.S. citizens or permanent residents who intend to remain in the U.S. after graduation.
General Evaluation Criteria
Applicants are evaluated based on the following criteria:
•Academic improvement (grades and SAT/ACT scores),
•Recommendations (teachers and guidance counselors), and
•Personal essay describing career goals, current and past relevant extracurricular activities, etc.
